SENIOR MINISTER
Rev. Dr. G. Thomas Martin joins LaGrange First UMC, bringing with him 16 years of pastoral experience. Previously, he served at Peachtree Road UMC, Sandy Springs UMC, and Fayetteville First UMC while pursuing his Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology. Before his roles in congregational life, he attained a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School (and he enjoys discussing basketball).
He has a passion for inspiring others to deepen their faith and embrace the love of God and neighbor throughout their spiritual journeys. Throughout his ministry, he has witnessed the church’s greatest effectiveness when worshippers actively engage and are motivated to serve others.
He and his wife Leslie are parents to three children and two dogs. When not immersed in church activities, Thomas tries his utmost to outplay Leslie in tennis.
