Weddings

A wedding is one of the happiest and holiest moments in life.

As a couple chooses to make a lifelong commitment to one another, the church rejoices with them and is eager to help make the occasion of their wedding beautiful and meaningful.

In general, all weddings must be scheduled at least 31 days prior to the requested date, and non-member weddings cannot be scheduled in excess of six months prior to the requested date.

If the wedding is to be performed by one of our church ministers, please contact that minister at the time of booking to reserve that date. Pre-marital counseling is required prior to the wedding, regardless of who officiates during the ceremony. If an outside minister is used, the Senior Minister of our church must approve the guest minister prior to the wedding being booked on the church calendar.

The couple are responsible for explaining our polices to the photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, and any other persons involved. A meeting with the wedding committee should be arranged at the time reservations are made or very soon after.  Since the wedding is a religious ceremony in the house of God, the decorations should be as simple as possible and should enhance the natural beauty of the Sanctuary or Chapel. All weddings taking place at LaGrange First United Methodist will follow the guidelines and policies set forth in the most current version of The United Methodist Book of Discipline.

Please email us or call 706.884.4635 for more information. Our Board of Trustees requires that the person making the reservations accept full responsibility for any damages to church property, complete all rental forms, and sign the liability agreement on behalf of all wedding participants and guests.
